Cluster Diaries is a field journal for senior platform engineers — the people who keep Kubernetes clusters, cloud estates and delivery pipelines running when everyone else has gone home.
The articles here focus on decisions, not tutorials: which tool to pick and why, what breaks at scale, what the documentation leaves out, and how to make platforms that developers actually want to use.
Who writes it
I’m Lasantha, a platform and DevOps engineer based in Sri Lanka with more than 15 years of experience building and operating infrastructure. I spent seven years at Pearson as a Principal DevOps Engineer, where I led a Kubernetes platform hosting education products across multiple AWS regions, automated with Terraform, Terragrunt and GitOps, and an EC2-based platform managing thousands of instances. Today I work with product and fintech teams on cloud and Kubernetes platforms.
Certifications along the way: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) and Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
